| Junior Golf Program
Edgewood Golf Course has always been committed to developing the game of golf through their Junior Golf Program. It is through this exciting program that junior golfers have the opportunity to learn about the rules and etiquette of the game of golf, while at the same time improving their own individual golfing ability. In 2010 Edgewood Golf Course has again revamped their junior golf program. In an attempt to provide more focused and effective instruction the following changes have been made.
- Smaller Group Sizes
- More Individualized Instruction
- More Opportunities for On Course Instruction and Application
- Discounts on Greens Fees for those Registered in the Junior Golf Program
Edgewood has a variety of Junior Golf Programs available to all golfers between the ages of 5-17. Each program will consist of six lessons. All lessons are on the following dates:
JUNE 24 JULY 1 JULY 8 JULY 15 JULY 22 JULY 29
The lessons will be broken into the following groups (see attached page)
- Junior Golf League...... Those Juniors who can shoot 65 or less
- Group 1........................... Ages 12 and Over
- Group II........................... Ages 8-11
- Group III.......................... Ages 5-7
Most lessons will last for 1 hour. The time schedule for lessons is as followed
- Junior Golf League.......... 7am-7:30am
- Group 1........................... 8am-9am
- Group II........................... 9:30am-10:30am
- Group III.......................... 11am-12pm
Junior Golf League (Maximum of 24 juniors) $140/student
This program consists of six half hour lessons. After each lesson the students will play a competitive nine hole round of golf. This program is designed for the junior golfer who has a general understanding of the basics of the game, and is looking for more in-depth instruction while participating in a competitive atmosphere. Junior must be able to demonstrate the ability to legitimately shoot 65 or less in a 9-hole round of golf. These lessons include the following;
- In depth instruction, in a small group setting
- Video tape swing analysis
- Handicap card for league
- 9 hole golf league for friendly competition
- Junior Golf Tee-Prize
- End of the year Junior Golf Banquet
- 50% off junior green fees, Mon-Thur from 10-2, during the Junior Golf Program
- All juniors are automatically enrolled in the “Kids on Course Program” which entitles juniors to play after 5:00 on Weekends for $1.00 with an accompanying adult paying full price.
Group I (Maximum of 24 juniors) $110/student
This program consists of six one-hour lessons. A 9-hole round of golf will follow the final three lessons. This program is designed to reinforce the basic skills of the game, while introducing some more advanced concepts. These lessons include the following;
- Instruction in a small group setting with others the same age
- Three 9 hole rounds of golf
- Weekly awards and prizes
- Junior Golf Tee-Prize
- End of the year Junior Golf Banquet
- 50% off junior green fees, Mon-Thur from 10-2, during the Junior Golf Program
- All juniors are automatically enrolled in the “Kids on Course Program” which entitles juniors to play after 5:00 on Weekends for $1.00 with an accompanying adult paying full price.
Group II (Maximum of 24 juniors) $100/student
This program consists of six one-hour lessons. A 9-hole round of golf will follow the final two lessons. This program is designed to complete introduction and reinforce of the basic skills of the game. These lessons include the following;
- Instruction in a small group setting with others the same age
- Two 9 hole rounds of golf
- Weekly awards and prizes
- Junior Golf Tee-Prize
- End of the year Junior Golf Banquet
- 50% off junior green fees, Mon-Thur from 10-2, during the Junior Golf Program
- All juniors are automatically enrolled in the “Kids on Course Program” which entitles juniors to play after 5:00 on Weekends for $1.00 with an accompanying adult paying full price.
Group III (Maximum of 24 juniors) $90/student
This program consists of six one-hour lessons, and a chance to play on a “real golf” course upon completion of the final lesson. Edgewood uses the “SNAG” golf system, which consists of instructional golf equipment designed for young children.

- The modified round of golf during last lesson
- Weekly awards and prizes
